1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
When you use "Just so you know...", you may provide us with:
- Profile Information: Your name, gender, and profile photo
- Partner Information: Your partner's name, gender, and photo (if you choose to pair devices)
- Wishlist Items: Items you want, including names, prices, links, images, sizes, and comments
- Memory Vault Entries: Personal details about your partner, including preferences, important dates, sizes, and other information you choose to store
- Settings: Your currency preferences, price thresholds, and other app settings
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use the app, we automatically collect:
- Device Information: A unique device identifier (using iOS identifierForVendor) to enable synchronization between paired devices
- Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the app to improve functionality
- Push Notification Token: A token to deliver notifications about reminders and sync updates (if you grant permission)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the app's core functionality
- Enable synchronization between your device and your partner's device (when paired)
- Store your wishlist items and memory vault entries
- Send you reminders for important dates (if you enable notifications)
- Improve the app's performance and user experience
- Respond to your support requests
3. Data Storage and Synchronization
3.1 Local Storage
Your data is stored locally on your device using iOS UserDefaults. This includes your profile, wishlist items, memory vault entries, and settings.
3.2 Cloud Storage
When you pair your device with your partner's device, we use Google Firebase services to synchronize data between devices:
- Firebase Firestore: Stores and synchronizes wishlist items, memory vault entries, and profile information between paired devices
- Firebase Storage: Stores images (wishlist item photos and profile photos) that you upload
- Firebase Cloud Messaging: Sends push notifications to enable real-time synchronization
Important: Data is only synchronized when you explicitly pair your device with your partner's device using a pairing code. If you use the app solo (without pairing), no data is sent to our servers.
3.3 Data Sharing
When you pair devices:
- Only data marked as "Shared" in your memory vault is synchronized with your partner
- Data marked as "Private" remains on your device only and is never shared
- All wishlist items are shared between paired devices
- Your profile information (name, gender, photo) is shared with your paired partner
4. Data Security
We take data security seriously:
- All data transmitted between devices is encrypted using HTTPS
- Firebase services use industry-standard security measures
- Data is stored securely in Firebase with access restricted to your paired devices only
- Your device identifier is used solely for synchronization and is not linked to your personal identity
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google Firebase: For cloud storage, synchronization, and push notifications. Firebase's privacy practices are governed by Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
These services have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.
6. Your Rights and Choices

- Access all data stored in the app through the app's interface
- Edit or delete any information you've provided
- Export your data using the "Export Data" feature in Settings
- Unpair your device at any time, with options to save or delete shared partner data
6.2 Privacy Settings
You can control what information is shared:
- Mark memory vault entries as "Private" to prevent them from being shared with your partner
- Mark entries as "Shared" to allow synchronization with your paired partner

6.3 Deletion
You can delete your data at any time by:
- Deleting individual items or entries within the app
